Care Certificate Assessors Workshop

The NCFE accredited Assessors for the Care Certificate is a consecutive two day workshop designed by eLFY Training to ensure that potential Assessors are both occupationally competent in their role and able to give the learner the necessary support to complete the Certificate.

To Achieve the Award

To be eligible to enrol on the CCA workshops, candidates must have a minimum of two years experience in health and social care and hold a recognised care qualification at Level 3 or 2 years experience. Recognised qualifications include NVQ, QCF, and Leadership & Management; this is not an exhaustive list.

Once enrolled, the candidate will begin the CCA where they will need to demonstrate a mixture of skills to deliver a successful outcome. As part of this, the candidate will be required to complete a 40 question multiple choice written exam based on the 15 Standards of the Care Certificate; a pass mark of 75% must be obtained. A further set of assessments will take place on marking, practical competencies and using the Care Certificate ePortfolio.

Candidates will need to be assessed as competent in all of these areas to achieve the CCA.

What to expect?

Day One of the CCA will entail a whistle-stop tour of the 15 Standards contained within the Care Certificate. Using an array of resources, learning methods and activities our dedicated trainers will engage with you to raise and improve your knowledge of the Standards including what is expected from the national Care Certificate Framework.

At the end of day one, the candidate will complete the 40 question multiple choice written exam.

Day Two of the CCA will see all candidates complete a set of assessment competencies to complete the award. This will include:

  • Marking a set of mock answers to the set written questions
  • Completing an assessment of a practical demonstration including using the ePortfolio
  • Giving advice on writing a case study and practise marking against a set standard with a pre-written case study

To get to the assessment stage, all candidates will complete a morning session using the online Learning Management System and the Care Certificate e-portfolio. Teaching will be delivered to  standard to ensure you are competent in its use.
